About

Hey, I'm Justin. I run Hot Racks out of a small shop in Oakland Park, FL.

I spent 8 years in the Navy, which mostly means I got real comfortable with precision, tight spaces, and things needing to actually work the way they're supposed to. After I got out, that habit didn't go away, it just found a new outlet in making stuff.

Hot Racks ended up being where my passions of woodworking and computers collided. Rack mounts and networking gear that's built with the same care you'd put into a nice piece of furniture. I wanted to break away from the boring corporate aesthetic of EVERYTHING GREY OR BLACK.  Yawn.  I have my rack in the middle of my living room and believe me when I say  it's the center of attention whenever I have guests.

Some of what I make is 3D printed and dialed in to fit specific hardware; routers, switches, mini PCs, that kind of thing. Some of it's built the slower way, like the walnut mini server rack, where I actually care about grain, edge banding, and whether it looks good sitting in your living room and not just in a server closet.

It's just me back here. Designing, printing, cutting wood, packing boxes, answering emails. So if you reach out, you're talking to the guy who actually made your stuff, not a support team reading from a script.

If something's not right, tell me and I'll fix it. And if you need a mount for something weird that I don't have listed, ask, there's a good chance I can make it.
